Darrell Scott

Rolling Stone magazine may have put it best: "...matching Guy Clark & Bruce Springsteen at their finest."

Darrell Scott is a Grammy-nominated performer and recording artist, an in-demand multi-instrumentalist (he plays 13 instruments!) and an ASCAP Songwriter of the Year. Darrell was honored with the 2007 Song of the Year award from the Americana Music Association for his song "Hank William's Ghost." He has won Album of the Year Awards TWICE in the past decade from the Annual Independent Music Awards. (In January 2011, his album A Crooked Road won the award for the Country Album category.) As a songwriter, he's contributed a string of hits that reads like a list of the best modern country music has to offer. There's the Grammy Award winning "Long Time Gone" and "Heartbreak Town," for the Dixie Chicks. "Great Day to be Alive" helped Travis Tritt complete his comeback; "Born to Fly" hit #1 for Sara Evans, and "When No One's Around" extended Garth Brooks' run. "You'll Never Leave Harlan Alive" was cut in the same year by both Patty Loveless and Brad Paisley. When on tour, Darrell performs these and other selections from his own 9 CDs that have been released in the past 14 years.

In concert, Darrell delivers his amazing, soulful performances solo, as a duo, trio or band, or a string quintet, with each configuration as dynamic and powerful as the next. Darrell will be touring in 2012 in support of his new CD “Long Ride Home.” When not on tour with his own shows, Darrell is a member of Robert Plant’s Band of Joy. Additionally, he has collaborated with Steve Earle, Sam Bush, Emmylou Harris, Sheryl Crow, John Cowan, Joan Baez, Guy Clark, Tim O'Brien, Jimmie Dale Gilmore, and many, many others.
